Cubs
Cubs is the next stage above Beavers and is for children from the age of eight to ten and half. 17th Wakefield Cubs is based a five minute walk from the Outwood Church Institute in the Outwood Memorial Hall.
The Cubs do similar things to Beavers however they do get to do more advanced activities and have the opportunity to go on longer camps and sleep in the great outdoors. There are also many more badges to receive, hence the larger age range.
The Cubs are divided into packs which have a Sixer (Leader) and Seconder (Deputy Leader) and many of their badges are earned in these packs, (such as stargazing, DIY and fire safety) but, like the Beavers they can earn badges individually on camps, (such as Equestrian and Skating).
Cubs is staffed by many responsible adults and young leaders who are fully trained in safety and always look for ways of ensuring that everyone is achieving and feeling happy at the same time.
